Y. Van Darc, 1985
Gijón, Asturias
Started studies of applied arts at the schools of Arts and Crafts in Avilés, Spain, specializing in abstract mix media painting, but dropped off to move to Berlin, where she will continue as she began, as self-taught artist. Will be in this city where she develops her layering style, where the absence of concept is the concept itself. Using different pigments, oxids and pastes, to multilayer and build different textures that merge into each other, forming dreamy landscapes. The pieces can be in permanent transformation, under construction or destruction, creating itself. The inspiration, comes from the attempt to find the emptiness, the place inside where nothing dwells and where there is room to create everything from scratch, no matter what emerges from there, all is welcome and nurtured.
